Scenic Rail Routes of Switzerland

Glacier Express
Route : Zermatt - Brig - Andermatt - Chur - Davos/St-Moritz
The 7½ hour trip crosses 291 bridges, passes through 91 tunnels. Drinks and snacks are available at all times and lunch is served at your seat in the new Glacier Express Premium trains.


Matterhorn, Zermatt Golden Pass Panoramic
Lucerne - Brünig Pass - Interlaken - Zweisimmen - Montreux
Connecting Central Switzerland and Lake Geneva with this train ride. Depart from historic Lucerne and cross the Brünig Pass by Golden Pass Panoramic train, to Interlaken. Continue to Gstaad, where the train makes an descent towards Montreux, passing through vineyards and country estates to finally arrive at Lake Geneva.

Bernina Express
Chur/Davos - St. Moritz - Bernina Pass - Poschiavo - Tirano (bus) - Lugano
The Bernina Express offers breath-taking vistas from the 1st and 2nd class panorama cars. Ride over viaducts, through galleries hewn into the sheer rock, through switch-back tunnels, along mountain streams, glaciers and even an alpine garden.

 

 

William Tell Express
Lucerne - Lake Lucerne - Flüelen
- St. Gotthard - Bellinzona - Lugano
Enjoy an excellent meal while travelling along the impressive coastline of Lake Lucerne on a first-class vintage paddle steamer. Once the boat has reached Flüelen, step off the boat and onto the comfort of a first-class panoramic train that will whisk you via the spectacular Gotthard route to Italian-speaking town of Ticino.

Lötschberg-Centovalli Express
Bern - Brig - Domodossola - Locarno
The Lötschberg Line and Centovalli Train journey from North to South offers a wonderful view of the Rhone Valley as you descend the southern ramp towards Brig and then enter the Simplon Tunnel on the way to Italy. Between Domodossola and Locarno with the Centovalli Train you can see waterfalls, vineyards, chestnut forests and villages.
